WELCOME TO THE MOTHERLAND!!!

By : Thapelo Mosioua

This is probably what most of the many international artists that have landed on our shores were told.

We have seen a great influx of international artists in South Africa & we probably have the 2010 World Cup to thank for that because through that we displayed what a great place our country is & it became more appealing to international superstars, a good case in point was well known teenage sensation Justin Bieber coming to South Africa for a short holiday in Cape Town a couple years ago.

On to the actual artists who have performed on our shores, in the past 3 months we have seen a total of 8 international acts gracing our stages namely : Chris Brown, Talib Kwali, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Ne-yo, Kanye West, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers & D’banj with more artists already confirmed to grace us with their presence.

Kid Cudi
According to The New Age Online one of Kanye’s many artists from his G.O.O.D Music label Kid Cudi is set to perform on the 23rd of February at a secret venue in Johannesburg at an invite-only affair to a crowd of 1000 people.

Miguel
Another arrival will be Grammy award winning RnB sensation Miguel! He will be bringing his Adorn Tour to South Africa for 2 nights only March 1st in Johannesburg & March 3rd in Cape Town and tickets are available at Computicket while stocks last.

R.Kelly
Our final confirmed arrival will be The Pied Piper of RnB Mr trapped in the closet himself R. Kelly who is bringing his Single Ladies Tour to local shores, he is expected to perform in Johannesburg on March 21st and in Durban on March 23rd as reported by the Sowetan Live & confirmed by the promoters of the tour Afropulse Entertainment. Tickets are also available at CompuTicket.

Metallica
And as a special treat to all my white folks you thought I forgot about you right? Legendary Multi-platinum selling Rock Band Metallica is also set to perform for 2 nights in Cape Town on April 24th and Johannesburg on April 27th it will be a rare treat for South African fans to see the band that was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll hall of fame who are celebrating 32 years together.

Well if you didn’t know now you do so don’t say your boy doesn’t look out for all of you!

Peace
