Dineo's Diary Season 2 back on VUZU TV Yaiy.....

Trust VUZU to be the number one TV Station to bring you the best in reality TV. I call them the PIONEERS of reality TV shows unearthing SA best, not some wanna be schlebs. When you mention VUZU  we talking about the unsurpassed content and personalities they go for.

As a young creative and a lover of all things #media I developed a lot of respect and love for the yummy mummy Ranaka and all her drama. She is one mogul in the making, better yet she “IS A MOGUL”, as her contribution to the media and fashion industry has dominated in SA at large.
Dineo Ranaka
Dineo starred in her own reality show with the Ranaka’s and her well known rapper boyfriend lesego AKA Blacklez. She tackled the industries challenges, being a mother, sister, daughter and a very dramatic girlfriend (anticipating the moment when I can actually say “wife”). Dineo and her bf stirred up the shows vibe with their frequent squabbles and altercations. Hopefully Season two doesn’t fail to deliver more of that.
Mogul in the making
So look out for VUZU as it steps up a notch and brings back SEASON 2 of Dineo’s Diary which will showcase what she is best known for, her fashion, business sense and being a yummy mummy  to her second babatjie.

So this winter be sure to be kept warm by Dineo and her crazy stunts.

Also coming in May 2013 is none either than celebrities crazy comment platform 10 over 10. That too cannot be missed.

XOXO.......Stay PHLY.

WELCOME TO THE MOTHERLAND!!!

By : Thapelo Mosioua

This is probably what most of the many international artists that have landed on our shores were told.

We have seen a great influx of international artists in South Africa & we probably have the 2010 World Cup to thank for that because through that we displayed what a great place our country is & it became more appealing to international superstars, a good case in point was well known teenage sensation Justin Bieber coming to South Africa for a short holiday in Cape Town a couple years ago.

On to the actual artists who have performed on our shores, in the past 3 months we have seen a total of 8 international acts gracing our stages namely : Chris Brown, Talib Kwali, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Ne-yo, Kanye West, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers & D’banj with more artists already confirmed to grace us with their presence.

Kid Cudi
According to The New Age Online one of Kanye’s many artists from his G.O.O.D Music label Kid Cudi is set to perform on the 23rd of February at a secret venue in Johannesburg at an invite-only affair to a crowd of 1000 people.

Miguel
Another arrival will be Grammy award winning RnB sensation Miguel! He will be bringing his Adorn Tour to South Africa for 2 nights only March 1st in Johannesburg & March 3rd in Cape Town and tickets are available at Computicket while stocks last.

R.Kelly
Our final confirmed arrival will be The Pied Piper of RnB Mr trapped in the closet himself R. Kelly who is bringing his Single Ladies Tour to local shores, he is expected to perform in Johannesburg on March 21st and in Durban on March 23rd as reported by the Sowetan Live & confirmed by the promoters of the tour Afropulse Entertainment. Tickets are also available at CompuTicket.

Metallica
And as a special treat to all my white folks you thought I forgot about you right? Legendary Multi-platinum selling Rock Band Metallica is also set to perform for 2 nights in Cape Town on April 24th and Johannesburg on April 27th it will be a rare treat for South African fans to see the band that was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll hall of fame who are celebrating 32 years together.

Well if you didn’t know now you do so don’t say your boy doesn’t look out for all of you!

Peace

Wedding Bells for Shota....

Shota first lady Phumeza

Allow me to organize my wedding outfit cause I hear hear that wedding bells are in order for Mzansi’s most secretive couple Phumeza Dlwati and Mnqobi Mdabe well known as Shota. The two have been dating for 3 years now but have always dismissed the fact that they are an item.

Insiders say Shota is over the moon as he will be marrying the love of his life, Ncooooooooh how sweet is that. According to reports the couple have set the date as soon as next month.

So who’s next in Celebville to get hitched? I wonder, #SimplyPhly will be on the lookout for more of Mzansi lovebirds.

All the best you two.
P.S. Looking forward to the invite J.

XOXO.....HAPPY VALENTINES DAY YA’LL.....

Oscar Pistorius arrested after girlfriends death...

Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius

I was in disbelief when I came across Twitterville today as I saw headlines and tweets about the death of Reeva Steenkamp (model and Oscar Pistorius girlfriend). I gave it no interest and continued with my everyday sense of duties. The minute I got to the office I then decided to Google this just so I got a clear idea as to what was really happening and to my shock once again it was true. Oscar has “accidentally” shot and killed his girlfriend thinking she was a burglar.

Reports state that this happened in the early hours of today and investigations are still taking place. Reeva Steenkamp former FHM model died on the scene with wounds on her head and upper body. I have no idea if I should sympathise with Oscar or what, gosh but how does one even come to terms with calling someone’s death a “mistake”.

Reeva was well known as a model, born in the Cape.  She was also famously known for having dated the culprit Oscar Pistorius.  It was less than 24hr’s ago when the excited Reeva tweeted What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow??? #getexcited #ValentinesDay”. Little did she know she wouldn’t even spare a sec to celebrate this day of #LOVE. *so sad*

At the moment it’s not clear if the blade runner will be charged with murder or culpable homicide. Our sincere condolence goes out to the Steenkamp family, “MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE”.

#Fashion4Charity... Do your part for FUN_LOVE!

Fashion For Charity Fundraiser

A Random Act of Love is an organisation of young people who saw the need to reach out and help charities. We are very passionate about helping people, especially children. We have come together and identified a home based care centre in Soweto.,Meadowlands that needs assistance with the programme they run and their daily living – Bophelo Home Based Care. We have a need to make a difference in people’s live thus we have made use of fun days and motivational workshops as our way to doing so. We are working together with Bophelo to help them raise funds for their daily operation and revamping their centre.
We made efforts to remedy some of these issues on the Mandela Day event with the assistance from locals designers showcasing their range(s). The designers are:

55TH Grammys: Night of Glitz and Glam

Jay-Z scooped a few like always.
By: @Thapelo_Mosiuoa

On Monday night we witnessed the screening of the Grammy awards on South African television but because of the significant time difference they were over by the time VUZU screened them at 7.30 pm local (unless you deprived yourself of sleep & woke up at 3 am to watch them on Mtv)

With a total of 81 awards due to be presented (with 3 new awards added from last year’s 78) 70 of them were awarded at the pre-telecast ceremony earlier in the evening and 11 were presented at the main awards ceremony which were hosted by LL Cool J.

One thing worth noting was that almost all the performers of the night were either country or rock artists except for Alicia Keys, Miguel, Frank Ocean, Rihanna & Justin Timberlake which begs the question are Americans more biased towards country & rock music? (I mean Taylor Swift IS one of the highest selling artists in the world & she is a pop/country singer)

Riri with Nas at the After -Party
Anyway after the festivities of the night were concluded in was on to the after-party! But most of us in S.A were left in awe of the sheer quality of the production of the Grammys & how professionally they were held! Unfortunately we cannot say the same for our own awards ceremonies. With South African’s almost obsessive admiration of American pop culture you’d think that the quality of our productions would be of a higher standard.

And the award goes to......
For the past 4 months we have had several American musicians come to our shores and even though (according to reports) the performances were below par the production was up to standard! But our awards shows are not of the same standard. The SAMA’s of 2011 were probably the worst of them all, they were plagued with chaos and disorganization which led to the then CEO of the SAMA committee Randall Abrahams resigning.

The SAMA committee could learn a thing or two from the Grammys from stage production to selection of performances and even how to select a proper host! Little things like a dress code were implemented at Grammys, which could be a step in the right direction towards taming Somizi’s outrageous outfits.

LL Cool J held it down smoothly.

America has multiple music awards ceremonies but the Grammys are extra special, if music was soccer then the Grammys would be the world cup! So with the Metro fm awards looming on our shores it would’ve been advisable for them to have watched the Grammys but more importantly just like #Grammys was trending all over the world on twitter I hope #SAMA can trend as well & for the right reasons!

SAMA committee I hope you took a pen & paper and wrote down how an awards show is supposed to be held.

KELLY HAS NO PLACE TO STAY...

Kelly Khumalo

Talented singer and reality TV star Kelly Khumalo is homeless. Jub-Jub’s ex girlfriend has been boasting about a home she doesn’t even own. “Hey Kelly remember last year when you sang your own praise to Mzansi about how your new house has room only for your clothes”. I GUESS you spoke to soon. The fancy house in Northcliff, Joburg belongs to sports presenter Robert "Madluphuthu" Marawa.

So I guess it would be safe to say that the talented singer who stayed with her sister Zandile and manager Sarah Shongwe were living rough. Regardless of the fact that Robert is Kelly’s friend and that the house was on the process of selling during the shooting of “Rolling with Kelly”.

But on a rather less depressing note, Kelly delivered an outstanding performance at the AFCON closing ceremony yesterday and like always she never disappoints as she had the crowd wowed. She performed alongside other artists namely: Zonke, Thembisile Ntaka, MiCasa, Kenya’s Muthoni and D'Banj.

I have to say #AFCON13 was a huge success, BIG UP SA for yet another victory...

XOXO....Any rooms “TO LET”.

Mbhoro causes studio commotions AGAIN.

Incredible Happenings Pastor Mbhoro

The Oh So Dramatic Pastor Mhboro is at it again, this gets me wondering if his DIVA tactics will ever end. The popular pastor had a clash with Kasie Fm’s DJ Paul apparently after he alleges the DJ played house music on a slot that he paid for called “Incredible Happenings” which forms part of the late night show.

It seems like the ‘biscuit’ pastor has a thing for studio collisions as he has come across such with the Vaal’s Thetha Fm. According to reports Mbhoro was listening to the station at his home and heard the Dj play jive music on his slot, this angered the pastor and he ridiculously decided to go to the studio with his bodyguards to skirmish with the Dj “Of cause he did it with SWAG in his morning gown” what a shaggy dog story.

Anyway I really don’t give a hoot about this Mopropheta mang mang who supposedly has the power to vanquish the devils works. This man has fame riddling in his mind, he should just carry on with his mind-boggling  prophetic duties and stop being such a drama queen, we not short of those, I think we have too many to handle all at once. I’m just about fed up with such tales. I get fed enough from a certain publication.

Y-Fm Twins Go "OFF AIR"......

Hlelo and Ntando Masina

So word is out, the Yfm twin are going OFF Air. Yfm station manager Tumelo Diaho Monaheng has announced that the twins will be having their last show by the end of March. Honestly I was never really a fan of their radio show, something about it was just not to my taste.#I love my peace, I can only handle one tweaking voice at a time.

Ntando and Hlelo Masina said this morning “We have had an amazing journey at Yfm which has taken our brand to another level over the past few years. Yfm have given us fabulous opportunities, and they are more like family to us. With that being said, we have quite a few new and exciting ventures lined up, and we are about to embark on that new journey”.

New programme line up will be announced on 01 April 2013 and with the raw talent the station is well know to produce we just hope they go for mature voices this time. Please one can do with a radio voice that sounds much more pleasing, lets stop with some of the "toilet echo" sounds.

Dont forget Y-Academy applications are still open, who knows you might just be the next big thing too. Not all regular callers get a chance to land a show lol.

P.S Good luck to the girls on their "new ventures".

XOXO....Stay Phly
